Corporate Website Agency for systems that work without us

When the next change has to go back to the agency again.

Many organizations start a corporate website relaunch — and one year later they are back at the same point. Changes take too long, responsibilities are unclear, the design drifts apart.

As a corporate website agency, we develop websites for companies and organizations that want to do more than redesign their website — they want to manage it independently for the long term.

Independent presences. Clear roles. One shared foundation.

What happens when a corporate website has no system

Every change goes back to the agency

Texts, images, new pages — nothing happens without asking first. The team waits, the agency invoices.

After one year it looks different

Without defined design rules, teams unintentionally drift away from the original look. Not because of carelessness — but because no system guides them.

New sections do not fit the rest

As the organization grows, the website grows uncontrollably with it. What is missing: a foundation designed for scale from the start.

The next relaunch solves the same problem again

New design, old structure. Without system thinking, the cycle repeats itself — every three to four years.

The problem is not the website.
The problem is that it was never designed as a system.

How CRENEO builds a corporate website: not as a one-off project. In our agency, the corporate website is part of the brand system — strategy, design, and digital presence form one unified whole.

01

Workshop & Vision

We start with a structured workshop. Goals, user groups, content, roles and technical requirements are clarified together. The result is not a briefing, but a shared foundation. From the start, we also consider search visibility, AI systems, technical performance and accessibility.

02

Structure & Architecture

Page structure, navigation model and content logic — built on what was developed in the workshop. We define which pages are needed, how users are guided, and how the website grows when the organization grows.

03

Design System & Components

Colors, typography, spacing — not as one-time decisions, but as a scalable design system. Templates and components in the CMS that the team can continue using independently after handover. The framework is intentionally built open enough for departments or subsidiaries to position themselves individually within the same system — without breaking the overall visual identity.

04

Handover & Enablement

Training, documentation, independent workflows — that’s the real goal. A corporate website is only truly finished when the team can continue developing it without us.

That’s what we mean by a brand system.

What changes — in practical terms

Without system thinking

With the CRENEO system

Does that sound like the next step? Then let’s talk.

What changes after handover: not what we deliver — but what becomes possible once the website is no longer a bottleneck.

01

Launch new things quickly

New location, new service, new campaign — the team handles it independently. No briefings, no waiting times. What used to take weeks now happens in days or hours.

02

Growth without breaking the system

New divisions, subsidiaries or language versions are created within the same system. No restart, no design fragmentation — the foundation carries the growth.

03

Brand consistency without control

Even when different teams create content. The system leads — not the last briefing, not someone’s memory of the design rules.

System solution

VdS had multiple stand-alone presences built over many years — inconsistent and difficult to maintain. CRENEO developed a system solution: all content under one roof, decentralized maintenance by internal teams.

Today, VdS teams work independently with the website — without asking the agency.

Frequently asked questions

The difference isn’t the design — it’s the system behind it. Many agencies deliver a finished website and hand it over. We go one step further: we build a system that keeps your website working long after launch. In practical terms, that means scalable, consistent, and independent from us — so your team can work with it on their own.

Content can be created, edited, and expanded independently — without needing to check back with us. To make that possible, we build templates, rules, and clear structures directly into the CMS. We also onboard the team through training sessions and provide thorough documentation — so even new employees can get started right away without a long onboarding process.

That’s exactly the goal — and the entire project is built around it. We design the website so teams can continue developing it independently. And while clients are always welcome to keep involving us afterwards, it’s never a requirement.

Yes — and that’s exactly how many clients work with us. Our approach doesn’t mean everything has to be handled internally after handover. It simply means that it can be — if that’s what’s wanted.

If you’d rather leave the ongoing maintenance of your corporate website to us as your agency, that can of course be arranged. The difference compared to traditional maintenance retainers lies in the system itself: we work within a system we’ve built together. That means no black box, no hidden dependencies — just full transparency and control at all times.

Not necessarily — if a clear brand foundation already exists, we build directly on it. What we always review, however, is whether the brand functions as a system — meaning whether it contains rules that can be translated into a website. If that is not the case, we close that gap in a targeted way before we begin the design process.

Our approach makes little sense if the goal is simply to get a website online quickly — without a strategic foundation. The same applies when it’s already clear from the start that there’s neither the time nor the interest to think through the structure together. Our process requires someone internally who takes ownership of the process — not necessarily of the day-to-day maintenance afterwards, but of the path that leads there.

Yes — and that is explicitly part of our system approach. A corporate website rarely functions in isolation. That is why, if desired, we seamlessly connect external systems via API — such as accounting software, tracking tools, CRM systems, or other digital applications already in use. The advantage: because the website is built as a system, these integrations can be implemented cleanly — without workarounds and without destabilizing the overall setup.

Does this fit your situation?

Alexander Willuweit takes the time to explore together whether a systems-based approach makes sense for your website — and what the right first step could be. No pitch. No pressure. Just a real conversation.
