New corporate font FUNKEsans for the FUNKE Mediengruppe
FUNKE Mediengruppe is strengthening its brand identity with its own corporate typeface. In collaboration with designers Tim Ahrens and Shoko Mugikura from Berlin-based type foundry Just Another Foundry, FUNKEsans was created in 2025 – a sans serif font based on FF Meta. It impresses with its clear, friendly aesthetics, high legibility, and versatility in print and digital media.
Implementation of the new corporate font
The introduction of the new corporate font “FUNKEsans” for the FUNKE Media Group covers several key areas:
Corporate design: FUNKEsans was integrated as a central component, and logos and all brand-related applications were redefined. The font family is used consistently across print products, digital platforms, and business correspondence.
Brand portal: All parameters, font styles, and applications are stored and integrated in the
FUNKE brand portal. This ensures uniform and consistent use of the corporate font across all communication channels.
Guidelines: A typographic system regulates the use of the Light, Regular, and Semibold weights, as well as additional variants (Bold, Extrabold, Condensed, Italic).
Visual elements reinforce the FUNKE corporate design
FUNKEserif is used for print products to complement FUNKEsans. Both fonts offer excellent legibility and create consistent brand communication. The new typography underscores the modernity and versatility of the FUNKE Media Group – from digital media to traditional print.
